TBAY Central’s summer long course season wrapped up August 8, with the final session of USA Swimming’s Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, MN.
TBAY swimmers Grace Fredlake (17) and Conor Swanson (17) posted personal bests in EVERY one of their races at the highly competitive long course meet. Fredlake started the meet with a 10th place finish in the 800 free, swimming 8.51.78 and just missing her Olympic Trial Cut. She finished 16th in the 400 free with a time of 4.21.31 and turned in times at or better than her previous best in the 100 and 200 free and 200 and 400 IM. Meanwhile, teammate Conor Swanson, saved his best swim for last: the 200 IM on Friday. In prelims, Swanson swam a 2.07.17, bettering his time by more than 3 seconds and went on to swim finals on the final night of the meet, finishing 13th. The 207.17 was his 1st Olympic Trial Cut. Swanson also had best times in his swims in the 100 back, 200 back, 400 IM, and 100 breast.[/img]
